Specially Engineered RO Systems
Along with our standard catalog systems, we offer an endless
array of custom-designed units that provide easy integration
with any new or existing water treatment scheme. With high
quality water capacities that range from 500 to 500,000 gallons
per day, WWT will tailor a system to best fit your needs.
In an effort to promote single-source responsibility, WWT
can help you through the entire project. From pre-treatment,
clean-in-place and polishing sub-systems, to custom PLC control
packages with data acquisition and analysis tools, we do it
all. Let Wigen provide a turn-key solution to your water problems!
Pre & Post Treatment Packages
As a rule, pre-treatment equipment is required to insure long-term
RO performance and optimum membrane life. While the degree
of pre-treatment is entirely contingent on the feed water
constituents, typical pre-treatment options include: clarification,
filtration, softening, pH adjustment, free chlorine removal
and 5-micron cartridge filtration. In addition, post-treatment
items such as: repressurization systems, level controls, UV
sterilization and sub-micron filtration are commonly outfitted
with our RO systems.
Membrane Elements
Based on superior membrane properties (high rejection of TDS,
silica and TOC and excellent chemical and bio-degradation
resistance), WWT utilizes the finest American made elements
available. Whether it's cold water, high flow or low energy
characteristics you require, rest assured that WWT will provide
the right membrane for your application.
RO System Design
RO System Design High quality, membrane elements are contained
in stainless steel or FRP pressure housings. Housings piped
in parallel constitute a single hydraulic stage, which typically
yields 50% recovery of product water based on a given feed
rate. The concentrate from the first stage, usually feeds
one or more downstream stages. Two-stage systems yield about
75-80% recovery; three-stage systems yield about 85-90%, depending
on the chemistry of the concentrate stream. Our housings are
generally staged in a tapered array, to provide adequate feed/concentrate
flow rates, while maintaining proper P.
