Brine Guard™ Filtration System Have you ever noticed the scum and debris that collects at the bottom of your water softener brine tank? That muddy mess is a blend of insoluble solids such as silica and sediment, which are normally found in water softener salt. Unfortunately, what you are able to see is a mere fraction of what you don't. Every time your water softener regenerates, a portion of that sludge is drawn into the resin vessels. Along the way, it plugs valve and injector orifices, and ultimately settles into the bottom of the tank. Eventually, the heavier particulate displaces the lighter resin, and begins to plug lower distributor screens. The result is shorter service runs, reduced flow rates and increased friction loss. The good news is that there is a solution to these menacing problems! It's called a Brine Guard™, and it prevents debris from ever reaching your expensive softener's. The Brine Guard™ is inexpensive, easy to install and requires no on-going operating costs. It's available with a manual or automatic purge system, as well as, an optional low salt alarm that signals the need for more salt.
